Birthday Toys for 2 to 3 Year Olds in 2019
I had the pleasure of buying toys for 2 to 3 year olds this year as this is the age of my two toddlers!! Since I am a toy blogger who constantly checks out the latest toys I found it really easy to pick the best! I thought I would share my list of what I bought for my daughter as well as the toys for 2 and half year old my friends bought for their kids. Here you can expect to find lots of pretend play as well as things to help develop your toddler’s imagination and enhance their learning. There is something to suit every budget and these will make great gifts at all times of the year.

My Little Pony Toys for 2 to 3 Year Olds
My goodness my little girl loves My Little Pony toys! It is actually one of the things we are using as potty training incentive ideas! Well if you have a 2 year old you will know that the vast majority of the playsets are recommended for 4 and 5 upwards, which is a bit of a bummer when you have a toddler who wants to play ponies all the time!! Fortunately my husband and I came across some basic Playdoh sets with Amelia’s lovable ponies and some Playskool playsets! We got the Applejack Activity Barn which I am planning on reviewing individually as both my 1 and 2 year old loved it! MLP have definitely some of the best toys for 2 year old girls!

Pretend Play Kitchen Sets are Best Toys for 2 to 3 Year Olds
We decided to buy our 2 and a half year old a pretend play kitchen for Christmas! We chose a Smoby one, which was in the medium price range. I absolutely loved the Step 2 Kitchens but was not prepared to pay hundreds of dollars for one that a 30 month old would not appreciate. In hindsight maybe I was wrong, as it is a toy she will grow into!
When choosing one of these I would suggest you look for one that comes with some accessories. We ended up buying a separate 120 piece accessorize of food and cutlery (another tip is to buy a storage box to keep it in).
Anyone I am a huge fan of pretend play for developing imagination and stimulating creativity! Amelia’s Smoby kitchen will go down as one of the best toys that promote language development. I secretly think her Daddy wants her to be a top chef so he is encouraging her and asking her how she is cooking his steak (rare, medium or well)!
I could probably go on and on about the best toy kitchens so I have decided to cut it short and feature a few here!

Learning Toys For 2 To 3 Year Olds
Toddlers are at a crucial stage of development. Language development is very important around the ages of 2 and 3, in order to prepare them for school. I believe that learning through play is one of the best ways to stimulate development.
Today’s world is a growing electronically and it is important our kids are ready! The Leapfrog My Own Leaptop is one of the best toys for two and a half year old boys and girls! I bought it for Amelia for Christmas and she loves it (review coming soon)!

Little Tikes Ride On Toys for 2 to 3 Year Olds
Little Tikes have awesome ride toys for toddlers and I should know because we own several including the Little Tikes Police car! However one of the latest additions is the Princess Horse and Carriage! Whilst more expensive than the traditional cosy coupe cars it is a little bit special so worth the extra cash in my opinion! These are a great way to improve toddler’s gross and fine motor skills. They send little ones on a journey. We have ride on lions, fire engines, cars, motorbikes and my kids love all of them. As soon as I think about storing one away they start using it again! Fortunately we have lots of floor space inside so our kids can use these indoors during the Winter months!

Interactive Pets are Best Toys for 3 Year Old Girl
Even though Amelia is 2 and a half she loves interactive pets like Hatchimals which in my opinion are a tad too advanced for her. She will have to make do with playing with her 8 year old cousins Hatchimal. However there are several other interactive toys for toddlers. These are a great way to teach children how to care for pets. I especially love the Electronic Pet dog Harry!

Take Apart Toys For Toddlers
Take Apart toys for toddlers, are also known as building toys and they are a great way for 2 and 3 year olds to learn! These are a test of memory and pattern recognition. They also encourage your toddler to be determined and not give up with the task at hand! These have big enough pieces and instructions are simple enough for a 3 year old to understand. Cool toys for 3 year old boys, you betcha!

My Mum and Dad bought my Amelia a desk for Christmas. While some may consider it furniture I actually think of it as one of the best toys for a two and half year old! It is a great place for her to sit and watch TV, do mini crafts (like Playdoh) and color in. There are some great character ones out there as well as the Vech learning one.
As soon as your toddler hits 2 they will show an interest in dress up. I guess this comes from what they see on the TV! My little girl loves her horse dress up as well as her witches dress. My little boy loves Batman!
