Excuses Why My Toddler Won’t Potty Train are Hilarious
I love writing helpful serious posts about why my (and lots of) toddler won’t potty train but this time I thought I would put one out there just for fun!! My very intelligent 2 year old comes up with all the excuses of the day to get out of using the potty! If your toddler won’t use potty and you want to add to this please feel free to add to the comments, and we can all have a laugh together! I have also added how I respond to her excuses!
My Toddler Won’t Potty Train Because…
Here goes with Amelia’s list of excuses:-
It is too boring! At which point I say it wouldn’t be boring if you just sat on it when you needed to pee/poo! I also entice her to use the potty by putting on her favorite TV shows. She only gets to watch these when potty training!
It is too scary. She has now told me it is scary doing a pee. I am not sure why she is saying this but I do not think she has a urinary tract infection. I am going to have to work on this one because I really need to get rid of her fear by making the experience more fun!
Best one ever came today, and it was, it’s too sunny! I mean where did she get that from?! Yes the sun was shining but I think she tries to come up with something different every time!
Excuses regarding size, i.e. I am too big! Excuse me, no you are not. I then give her a choice of a bigger potty (I have bought 3 in total) and she says I am too tiny.
It is too late, I have just done a big pee. I then check her nappy and it is dry. Amelia says anything to get out of it.
Not today is another reason. Basically just to put it off for another day.
It is her 15 month old Brother’s turn is another excuse. To be honest I was considering starting his potty training journey at one point in the hope it would sway her, but it is not fair on him.
Princesses don’t use potties!! I told her they did when they were her age but does not work! What a headstrong determined toddler I have. My toddler won’t potty train no matter what!
My 2 Year old repeats most of these excuses for not potty training on a daily basis!
Okay now that you have stopped laughing please feel free to check out my potty training ideas for toddlers!
